Childhood
Childhood passes
in the blink of an eye.
Next thing we know
it is time to die.
Time is a funny
thing.
We can’t
understand.
Yesterday I was a
young boy.
Today I am an old
man.
Memories of yester
year,
Of faces and
places we hold dear.
Childhood is over,
old age is here.
Voices from the
past, ring in my mind so clear.
You’ll be old one
day, they shout and say.
Gone is your
beauty, no longer to stay.
Childhood has past
and loved ones have gone.
To a new home in
the great beyond.
You will look
around and be standing along.
That is how it is
when we come to the end.
All alone without
family or friend.
Childhood is
fading, oh what a fright.
You will wake up
tomorrow and lost your sight.
Time is up and we
have lost the fight.
Childhood is over,
the time is near.
Loved ones are
calling, with glad tidings and cheer.
Welcoming us home,
good bye to down here.
Good bye, my
dears.
