Tuesday after a Holiday

Tuesday after a Holiday

Roses are red
The grass is green
Memorial Day has passed
I’m ready to scream.

Phones ringing non-stop
Complaints are all I hear
Everyone is growling
And not one ounce of cheer.

Tuesdays should be outlawed
That is plain to see
Any day after a holiday
Makes me want to shout and scream.

CHILDHOOD

Childhood

Childhood passes in the blink of an eye.
Next thing we know it is time to die.
Time is a funny thing.
We can’t understand.
Yesterday I was a young boy.
Today I am an old man.
Memories of yester year,
Of faces and places we hold dear.

Childhood is over, old age is here.
Voices from the past, ring in my mind so clear.
You’ll be old one day, they shout and say.
Gone is your beauty, no longer to stay.

Childhood has past and loved ones have gone.
To a new home in the great beyond.
You will look around and be standing along.
That is how it is when we come to the end.
All alone without family or friend.

Childhood is fading, oh what a fright.
You will wake up tomorrow and lost your sight.
Time is up and we have lost the fight.

Childhood is over, the time is near.
Loved ones are calling, with glad tidings and cheer.
Welcoming us home, good bye to down here.
Good bye, my dears.

RIGHTS

RIGHTS

Rights we demand, is our battle song.
Rights to abort, though some think it’s wrong.

Rights to live free, and do as we chose
Rights to protest, with cheers and boos

Rights to equality, for all men
Rights for those, who think they are women.

Rights they demand, free money to everyone
Rights to not work, but sponge off the working ones.

Rights to disagree, just not with me
Rights to deface, destroy, to injure and maim

Rights to protect those we love from all harm and shame
Rights to love freely, for those whom we care

Rights to life, liberty and death
Rights to live without fear.

Rights to be had, to reach out and grab’em.
Rights to be lost, because someone denied them.

Rights, Rights, Rights, some without a fight
Rights, Rights, Rights, Might equals Right.

Rights to worship, as we each see fit.
Rights to worship, without a pulpit.

Rights to play, all day long
Rights to sing, sad songs.

Rights we have and some abuse them.
Rights we have and some will lose them.
