Beauty Is

Beauty Is

Beauty is skin deep, so I hear.
Beauty is so much more, than that my dear.

Beauty is in the eagles, as they soar.
Beauty is the fall leaves, as they drift down to the forest floor.

Beauty is the rainbow up in the sky.
Beauty is there baby birds learning how to fly
.
Beauty is the flowers bursting forth in bloom.
Beauty is laying on a blanket, staring up at the moon.

Beauty is a herd of deer, grazing in a field.
Beauty is found by just standing still.

Beauty is the sun rising in the east.
Beauty is setting at a celebration feast.

Beauty is in the eyes of those we love.
Beauty is rain falling from up above.

Beauty is found in the simplest of things.
Beauty is found when blue jays sing.

Beauty is what you see, in a Mothers loving smile.
Beauty is playing a in big leaf pile.

Beauty is the ocean racing up the sand.
Beauty is holding a loved one by the hand.

Beauty is a waterfall, hitting the rocks below.
Beauty is looking out a window, and watching it snow.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, that much is true.
Beauty is found, when I look at you.

Beauty is more than looks and conceit.
Beauty is grace, loving, and sweet.

The Years

The Years

Years have come.
Years have gone.
Youth has faded.
To soon we are alone.
The years tell a story.
Of a father and a son.
Destined to be at odds, in a battle of wills,
That can’t be won.
Youth has turned to old age.
Lives spent in anger and hate.
Will they reconcile, before it is too late?
Words said in anger,
Have left scars that run deep.
One day soon, one will be gone.
Too late, it will be to weep.
Life is fleeting.
Soon the sun will set.
Will anger keep them apart?
Or in love will they reconnect?

WORDS

Words

Words have power, so they say.
Words can kill, or they can heal.

Words can be of malice intent.
Words can bring joy and courage to the sick.

Words can run on and on.
Words can also stand alone.

Words can calm the trouble soul.
Words can bring a smile when we are old.

Words can sing in the depths of our heart.
Words can mend, when your life is falling apart.

Words have the power to save.
Words can keep you from the grave.

Words can be said in thoughtless anger.
Words can keep us from harm and danger.

Remember your words and what you say.
Your words can bring comfort, or
Your words can cause dismay.

The Way It Has Become

The Way It Has Become

Here I stand all alone,
My family have left and now are gone.

This is the case of being me.
Those I love up and leave.

This is the state of life today.
Things we don’t love, we throw away.

It is sad to see a homeless Vet.
Who served our country, then was left a wreck.

Sadder still is a homeless youth.
Who identified as LGBTQ.

Protections for the common folks.
Are nothing more than a big fat joke.

Money rules lives today.
Compassion and love, have been bleed away.

It is a sad state of affairs.
That our government is full of crooks and liars.

Justice has been bought and sold.
By the ruthless and greedy, who have the gold.

Providing for your family,
Takes both parents working endlessly.

The news is full hate and fear.
Who to trust is so unclear.

College campuses are a sea of unrest.
Racists and haters demanding rights to express.

These are but a part of everyday life.
A maze full of struggles and strife.
