VALENTINE'S DAY

VALENTINE’S DAY

Love is in the Air
Hearts beginning to stir.

Valentine’s Day is upon us
Let Love surround and fill us

A day steeped in ancient medieval lore
Of martyrs and kings with hearts sore

Valentine’s letters came to be
Written in a prison cell, defying a king.

But this is not the end.
Claudius II beheaded two men.

Valentine by name
The Church declared them saints

The Lover’s holiday, predates the church
With Roots in the founding of Rome and pagan works

Pagan ritual Lupercalia
Luperci performed the rite

Goats and dogs were sacrificed
Blood ran red, the gods to pacify

The men with bloody skins in hand
Ran the streets anointing the women with them

To bless and grant fertility
To claim a mate for the coming festivities.

Enough said of ancient times.
Of bloody skins and pagan rhymes

The churches obsession to erase the past
To insinuate their religion, for time everlasting.

But for us my love, the meaning is clear
It is a special day of showing my LOVE and just how much I care.

Flowers, candy, and a special card, too
Proclaiming my Love for You.

Never forget and let me be clear
Valentine’s lasts all year.

I Proclaim my Love, oh yes, I Do,
Valentine’s Day is all about YOU.

29JAN2018 Gearing Up for the Super Blue Moon

Driving home from work. I was nearly back to Asheville and the house when I noticed the Moon in the sky. It was beautiful in the afternoon sky. When I got home I immediately got my camera and snapped a few photos. Hope you enjoy them.

This if the view of Moon standing in my back yard.

Big and Beautiful

So far away but so close with the help of a camera

I will post more photos as we get closer to the 31st. It will not be long. A couple of days.

2018

2018

Out with the old, and in with the new
2018 is upon us, what shall we do.
Get rid of the clutter of 2017
Make room for the new of 2018.

Start the new year off right
With a kiss from your sweet love at midnight.

Start off the year with black eyed peas and collard greens to seal the deal
To bring you luck throughout the new year.

The year will fly by in the blink of an eye.
So, tell yesterday good bye.

Hold up your head
Look straight ahead

Times a wasting
You have plans to be making

Resolutions galore
That will be broken by day 4

Give a shout out 2018
You are fresh and green.

A new year so bright with possibilities
Let us not forget, we have a few responsibilities.

Vacations to take,
Dreams to awake.

So believe in yourself
Live only for the day

2018 is full of opportunities
Don’t let obstacles, stand in your way.

Tis the Season

Tis the Season

In a manger meek and low
God sent Christ, for all the world to know.

Angels heralded in his birth.
To shepherds keeping watch ore their flocks upon the earth.

Singing Glory to God in the highest.
The Christ child is born.

A star in the heavens lit the way.
That the wise men, could come, worship, and praise.

This story is old
And repeatedly told.

How Christ came,
To save man from sin and shame.

But there is more to this story.
Christ wasn’t born in splendor and glory.

Christ taught us to love, worship, and pray.
Christ did not teach us to hate, revile and degrade.

Christ words today, still ring true.
Love one another, as I have loved you.

This Christmas season, take some time to reflect.
Show others around you, love and respect.

Christmas is not about toys and games.
Christmas is about the gift of love, because Christ came.

A Love story so bold and true.

Christ came to earth, because Christ Loved you.

First Snow of the winter season 08DEC2017

The first snow of the season. Not what we were expecting. It caught WNC with our pants down. LOL. I love to watch the snow as long as it doesn't accumulate. But it did accumulate. We got over a foot of snow. As the photos show. Enjoy The first set of photos are at my home.

 My back deck

The Red photos I thought were cool. Due to the fact that the red lights were coming from the fire truck that was parked behind. We had a guest get stuck in an elevator during the power outage last evening, at the hotel.

The following are at the hotel. So much snow.
